The purpose of the role is to lead and be the expert on all things pertaining to instructional design, developing content in line with our processes, and being an advocate for those processes.The Lead Instructional Designer (ID) oversees the process of scripting and recording all training and manages assets such as action maps, learning objectives, outlines, storyboarding and other documents. Works on concurrent projects while providing a smooth customer experience, resulting in projects being delivered on time and within budget.Accountabilities & ResponsibilitiesTakes the lead in customer meetings, gathering requirements and defining the solution best suited for their needs, using the processes developedLeads and delivers on major and priority pieces of work with the project managers, whilst advising and guiding the IDs on all other workSupports upskilling of the ID teamCollaborates with the Learning Manager role for larger projects, resourcing estimations, approvals of initiatives etc.Helps co-ordinate delivery of the roadmapProvides feedback and direction to the IDsFacilitates live sessions where requiredDevelop content that delivers high CSAT scoresIdentify and deliver on service improvements in processes and other areasMaintains and updates learning contentBe an advocate and carry the flag for quality and innovation in our contentProvides support services for content where requiredAspects of the Work EnvironmentThe role is fully remote so you must be able to work in an environment where you are able to manage your workload efficiently, be motivated, self-starting and understand you are not interacting directly with people. Most work is done over Teams calls and video calls.Must be able to sit at a computer monitor for prolonged periods of time.Qualifications

Minimum Experience RequirementsProven experience as an instructional designer, instructor or content creator or similar for a minimum of 5 yearsCurrent knowledge of effective learning and development methodsFamiliarity with e-learning platforms and toolsDeveloped and implemented large training programsExperience developing lessons, curricula and complex training programsRun a small team of 3 individualsAdvanced/expert knowledge of Unit4 ERPPreferred Experience RequirementsWorked for a software company in a similar positionDeveloped and implemented training strategiesExperience in project management and budgetingDegree level or postgraduate qualifications are desirable, particularly in a relevant field including an MSc degree in training management and development.Preferred Education RequirementsA CIPD qualification is preferred, either Level 3 Foundation Certificate or Diploma in L&D (Level 3 QCF) or a Level 5 Intermediate Certificate or Diploma in L&D (Level 5 QCF) or equivalent.Required SkillsExcellent communication skills, oral and writtenAbility to see the bigger picture and not get lost in detailsStrong organisation skills with ability to prioritiseAbility to build rapport with employees and customers/partnersProblem solver and solution finderCreative thinker and innovatorAdaptable and flexible, able to meet changing needsStrong networkerRequired Tools/TechnologyUnit4 ERPMS tools – Excel, Powerpoint, WordCamtasia or other content creation toolsAdditional Information
