Strategic Communications Lead

for a major DHA Innovation Program who will oversee all communication efforts for the program. This role involves developing and executing strategic communication plans to effectively convey the program's goals, progress, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders. The Strategic Communications Lead will work across all workstreams, ensuring consistent messaging and fostering a positive image of the program.ResponsibilitiesReport directly to the Program Manager and oversee all strategic communications for the program.Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to support program goals and objectives.Create and manage content for various communication channels, including newsletters, social media, websites, and press releases.Coordinate with workstream leads and project managers to gather information and ensure accurate and timely communication of project updates and milestones.Develop key messages and ensure consistency across all communications.Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies.Prepare and present communication reports and updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders.Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance program visibility and support.Provide guidance and support to the Strategic Communications Specialist.Ensure compliance with relevant communication policies and guidelines.Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or a related role.Proven experience developing and executing communication plans and strategies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong project management and organizational skills.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.Proficiency in communication tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite).Knowledge of healthcare systems and technology.Preferred Skills and ExperienceMaster's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.Familiarity with the DoD, Military Health System (MHS) and the DHA is highly desired.Certification in strategic communications or public relations (e.g., APR, CMP).Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management practices.Experience with crisis communication and media relations.Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret communication metrics.Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends and advancements.Experience with AI/ML a plus.Active DoD CAC or Active DoD Clearance.Clearance Requirements:U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.Work Location:San Antonio, TX - Falls Church, VA - Remote.*The Government reserves the right to change where this work will be performed, and light travel may be requested occasionally. Ideal cities and states with access to Government facilities are: Falls Church, VA, Washington, DC, San Antonio, TX, and Aurora, CO.CompensationThe salary range for this position is $125,000 - $160,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
