Washington Monthly Magazine ranks FIU among the top 20 public universities contributing to the public good.Job Summary:Manages a team to execute day-to-day social media responsibilities by creating and posting content, monitoring comments, and interactions and assisting with social media campaigns in addition to managing the policy and guidelines for the university.Oversees FIU's social media. Manages the voice of the organization through our flagship accounts. Works closely with a manager and 2 specialist positions to manage the execution of day-to-day social media responsibilities.Collaborates with other divisions, editorial and content teams to find and curate content.Tracks content trends and offers suggestions on how and why FIU can strategically leverage.Coordinates content creation needs, secures locations, assets, and necessary personnel for shoots.Manages the organization of a content calendar and follows up with content owners for timely publishing.Creates, modifies, and optimizes digital marketing materials in visual, video, and audio formats for social media platforms in collaboration with team members.Responsible for leading other social media professionals and staff to improve social media for FIU as whole.Manages to creation of social media audits and generates performance reports on a recurring basis.Engages and leads team to provide customer service either via comments or DM's by answering questions and connecting to the right resources or staff. Identifies common questions and helps create content to best answer them.Provides guidance to university social media communicators and enacts the social media policy.Works closely with the Communications and Media Relations Senior Leadership team, staff and university leadership to respond to 24/7 emerging issues on social.Provides weekly and monthly reports of social media growth.Oversees the training and workshops on social media for faculty and staff across the university.Oversees the recruitment and manages social media influencers - e.g. the FIU Creators program.Oversees the organization of emerging social media platforms and applications.Attends events as needed to assist in content creation.Evaluates results and recommend changes to strategies, coordinating efforts and gathering information as needed from staff across the organization.Performs essential duties during any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms and/or any other University emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closings with appropriate notification by department administrator.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field with four (4) years of experience in social media tools, marketing, and advertising or Master's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field with two (2) years of experience in social media tools, marketing, and advertising.Desired Qualifications:Experience with Social Brand listening reports (Brand Watch, Simply Measured).Proficiency in Microsoft OfficeSelf-starter approach to completing projects, as well as improving processes and procedures.Excellent interpersonal skills, with a sincere commitment to developing productive relationships, both within and beyond the institutions.Proven track record of leading initiatives on various social media sites.Job Category:
