As valued members of our intentionally diverse and close-knit community, Wolcott students develop a sense of purpose and responsibility to themselves andothers.Position Summary:The Marketing and Communications Assistant is responsible for supporting school administrators and staff by performing daily oral and written communication tasks. The Communications Assistant provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the school office. Their duties include scheduling and organizing meetings for Administrators, greeting office visitors and composing documents on behalf of administrators, and managing social media sites.Schedule : 9:30 am to 5:30pm, Marketing and Communications Assistant is a full-time, school year, 10-month position.Marketing and Communications Assistant ResponsibilitiesSupport internal communicationsPrepare and maintain presentations, reports, and media contact listsDesign visual presentations, newsletters, and flyers (internal and external use)Event support (small and large events)Social media content creation and managementData entry, organization, and analysis as well as reportingDocumentation, filing, and archive support of photography and video archivesMarketing and communications projects as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesPossess effective oral and written communication skills.The ability to work with students and adults in a positive manner.The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions.Possess problem-solving skills and reasoning ability to appropriately address day to day instructions.The ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues that supports a cooperative work environment.The ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of employee, student and other sensitive school information.The ability to set goals and establish methods for achieving these goals.The ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Education Suite, Constant Contact, graphic design and publishing software.Who are you?Energetic, enthusiastic, proactive with a flexible can-do attitudeHighly organized, initiative-taking, and able to work independently and within a teamProfessional and people personHave excellent verbal and communication skillsEducation and Experience:Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.1 - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related areaMarketing and social media experience is a plusKnowledge of office management systems and proceduresFamiliar with Microsoft Office suite and Google suiteExcellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize workPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
