Under direct supervision, assists with non-complex assignments in the installation, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance and design of communication systems including data, voice, video and networks.The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH), whose Human Resources are coordinated by Frostburg State University, seeks an innovative and self-directed person for the full-time, non-exempt, Salary Grade 10, IT Telecommunication Assistant. Hourly rate of $23.08. USMH is in downtown Hagerstown and is one of three regional higher education centers in the University System of Maryland offering programs from five universities at one local campus. Provides support for the technology systems at the University System of Maryland (USMH) and related facilities. Primary duties entail providing support for computer hardware, software, and peripherals, as well as classroom audio visual systems across the various buildings on campus. This includes performing non-complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and other peripheral equipment as well as installing and providing support for various operating systems and software applications. In addition, position will collaborate with other USMH staff and partner institution faculty and staff. This position will require evening shift Monday-Thursday of 11 am-7 pm or 12 pm-8 pm dependent on class schedules and Friday hours from 9 am-5 pm. Specific schedule will be based on developed class schedule in collaboration with the USMH Executive Director.Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of directly related experience. Ability to lift, transport, and install equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher and 1 year of directly related experience in providing support, troubleshooting, and repair of various IT-related devices, software applications, and operating systems.About the University:
