Overview:
The Product Designer role exists to bridge the gap between user needs and the functionality of a product. This role is crucial for ensuring that the product is not only functionally effective but also provides an excellent user experience (UX) and user interface (UI), which is essential to build a product that resonates and creates stickiness with customers and users.*This position is a hybrid role. Employees work collaboratively in office on Tuesday and Wednesday in Parsippany, NJ*
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DOAccountable for creating designs that effectively address user needs and enhance user experienceEnsure that all design elements are intuitive, accessible, and contribute to a seamless user journeyConduct user research to gather insights on user needs and behavioursDevelop and iterate on UI/UX designs, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visualsPerform usability testing to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvementWork closely with product managers, developers, and other team members to ensure a cohesive product vision and executionIterate on designs based on testing, feedback, and changing requirementsCommunicate design rationale and specifications clearly to non-design team membersCreate and maintain design documentation, including user flows, process flows, and design specifications
Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEEDBachelor's or master's degree in interaction design, behavioural sciences, industrial design, or a related field. Relevant experience can compensate for formal education.Min 5 years of experience as a Product DesignerExpertise in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and othersKnowledge of UX design processes and methodologies, such as user research, persona creation, user journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testingGood understanding of design principles, including colour theory, typography, layout, and brandingStrong problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance user needs with business objectives and outcomesStrong empathy towards users, understanding their needs, challenges and motivationsA team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsAbility to analytically interpret user data and feedbackExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with building B2B products is a plusABOUT USWallenius Wilhelmsen
