Purpose of roleTo lead QTC’s corporate communications function and apply senior subject matter expertise regarding strategic stakeholder engagement, crisis response management, media and all external communications.

Principles:Deliver through other members of the team and externally sourced partnerships, alliances/providersProvide technical / functional leadershipCollaborate with all stakeholdersSet the tone technically/functionally, and to quality standards, for QTCLead compliance with governance and risk frameworksKey accountabilitiesProvide expert-level contribution that leads the following capabilities:Develop and manage strategic stakeholder engagement and management (whole of business)Manage the Design and Digital team, including the appropriate resourcingOwn development and production of annual reportWebsite management, including upgrades and content managementMedia outreach and enquiriesHot issues briefsCrisis response communications managementCEO briefing notes, speeches and thought leadership (external events)Analytics from digital channelsMedia monitoring and reportingCorporate sponsorships

In this role you will:Provide technical / functional leadership for the delivery and implementation of key accountabilitiesContribute to high level advice to the Board and Executive management as requiredRepresent the organisation on committees and forums internally and externally as requiredProvide technical / functional leadership to the team to achieve− Collaboration, innovation and superior results− Stakeholder focus and endorsement− Alignment with change programs, including driving and role modelling cultural change− Continuous improvement− Governance and risk management Identify opportunities to provide technical / functional leadership to:− Build and retain a team that delivers consistently with the QTC business operating model− Build talent pools for the future− Coach, support, guide and direct to enable individuals and the team to achieveDeliver optimal results through relationships by− Creating and maintaining strong strategic partnerships with key stakeholders− Actively engaging in participative business partnerships within and external to QTCDemonstrate talent and capacity across a broad spectrum of skills needed to deliver competitive advantage− Negotiation, facilitation, communication skills (verbal, written, presentations) suitable to stakeholders− Relevant financial, economic, industry and statistical analysis skills with high attention to detail− Benchmarking, research, reporting and advocacy to a level suitable for publicationShort Term Priorities:Work with the Managing Director of the Advisory Division on a specific project to:Create a clear comms plan (the plan) for all stakeholders – internal and external – that clearly explains why the organisation is expanding services to meet client needs and why. Communication across all mediums will berequired – emails, website, media statement, PowerPoint presentation.Development of collateral material – media statements, talking points, HIB, PPQs etcClose liaison with Queensland Treasury will be paramount to ensure consistency in material and coordinated timing.Media monitoring and responding to any requests :Creation of whole of business strategic stakeholder engagement plan

About You:Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or significant equivalent contribution and understandingA minimum of 10 years’ experience in roles that demonstrate overall competencyExtensive experience in corporate communications with proven resultsExperience in leading people or projects or demonstrated leadership potentialProven experience in written communications, including corporate publicationsA minimum of 10 years’ experience working with mediaExperience working with government preferred and advantageousProven experience in digital channelsExperience in developing websites highly advantageousThe personal and professional gravitas to build and maintain creative, collaborative and impactful relationships across the businessExcellent organisational ability and prioritisation skills and the pragmatism to adapt quickly to changing internal or external client requirementsPersonal drive, integrity and accountability
