Junior Graphic Designer

DescriptionLove our aesthetic? Hot Topic is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to support our marketing initiatives. This role will work with the creative team in developing a wide range of design assets – both print and digital. This opportunity involves a broad range of tasks including but not limited to: photo editing and retouching, building print-ready files, preparing and designing digital assets for use in emails and on our website. You’ll also support digital asset management by maintaining files, digital assets, and server organization. If you love our creative style and have the design chops to match it, this role is for you.This role operates from our HQ located in the City of Industry, CA 3-4 days a week.Pay range$25.00 - $28.25 an hourPlease note the pay range for this position starts as listed in the job posting, but other factors such as an individual’s education, location, meeting the minimum job requirements for the role, training, and experience, will determine the final salary for potential new hires.What You'll DoClips and retouches photos for digital and print assetPrepare files for final delivery for print and digital formatsHelp design layouts for print and online content including in-store signage, website, emails and moreCommunicate and interact well with peers, supervisors and client representatives (be a team player)Accept assigned projects and covers designing creative assets based upon approved campaigns, execute materials based on specs provided from supervisor.Attend appropriate meetings on the projects assignedWhat You'll NeedExperience in Adobe Creative SuiteAt least 1-2 years of graphic design experience (in-house or agency) including photo editing, retouching, and clippingAbility to follow a style guide/concept and produce final art for both print and webBasic knowledge of HTML and UI best practicesAA in Graphic Arts or equivalent work experienceKnowledge of pop culture and musicFocused attention to detailsGood organizational skillsGood interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressure without compromising performance or accuracy in a deadline-oriented environment
