in the DEPARTMENT OF ART within the

Low-Residency Concentration of theMFA program.The Low-Residency Concentration within the Studio MFA

isan interdisciplinary curriculum dedicated to regenerative culture.Students in this concentration learn art and ecology, the ethics ofworking in community, solidarity economics and regenerative cultural practicesas they develop their interdisciplinary art practices. Thirty credits ofcoursework are shared with the Studio MFA, while thirty credits are part of aspecialized curriculum that each cohort of students moves through together.Admitted students can live anywhere in the world and take this course of study,as long as they can attend residencies twice a year and participate fullyin the cohort's critiques via Zoom. There will be two online courses: ArtHistory Research Methodologies and Writing, Art and Agency. The concentrationbrings students to sites across the Americas during winter residencies forfield-based learning.Positionsare contingent upon need

each semester as determined by student enrollmentlevels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduationrequirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester upto the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who areselected for these positions will report to Department Chair, Scott Anderson.For best consideration, please apply by this date:

-to teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applyingare determined by Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements forfaculty, and must be met by one of these ways:Terminal degree in the discipline or subfield ((MFA Studio Arts, PhD Art History, etc. ), or distinguished professional standing.Preferred Qualifications:Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution.A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.A practical knowledge of specific aspects of regenerative culture that relates to the course the applicant may wish to teach, such as -- but not limited to -- ecology, social justice, solidarity economics, indigenous cultural practices, the post humanities, decolonial theory and practice, systems thinking and/or ecomaterialism.Application Instructions
