Copy Editors
to support our Federal client with reviewing finished intelligence papers prior to publication and dissemination.
This role requires 100% on-site support in Tysons Corner.What you will be doing
Recommending edits to draft papers, graphics, and other products to improve quality and ensure products are editorially correct without altering technical accuracy or meaningEnsuring products conform to client's policy guidance and style standardsApplying writing standards, critical thinking skills, and expertise in grammar, punctuation, and copyediting to identify and resolve editorial issues and inconsistencies in complex text and graphicsRevising corporate style guidance as necessaryDeveloping and recommending editorial and publishing policies and practices along with standard operation procedures for editing and/or publishingWhat you
need
to be considered for this role (required)
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in in English, writing, or a related field (years of experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree)2-6 years of copyediting experienceExperience reviewing written products for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to style guidelinesExperience performing copyedit reviews of intelligence products, including classification portion markings and endnotesKnowledge of Intelligence Community agency/office style guidesStrong verbal and written communication skills is a mustAbility to effectively and efficiently multi-task, prioritize, and carry out projects through to completion with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detailDemonstrated analytical, reasoning, planning, and problem-solving abilitiesSelf-motivated, proactive, and independent thinker with high energy/positive attitudeU.S. Citizenship requiredActive Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility requiredAbout Us
