University Centers and Events (UCE) encompasses the University Union, Gateway Center and Coliseum. University Centers and Events (UCE), provides quality programs, services, and facilities that enhance the educational experience and create a community for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. Position Overview

Responsible for planning, installation and coordination of all technical systems, programs and events; specification, maintenance, and management of all installed and delivery services of mobile video, audio, projection and theatrical lighting systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and 4 years' of audio, video, or media production experience; experience with specific systems, equipment and software as specified by department; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Extensive knowledge of principles of audio, video, and interactive media production.Ability to manage the work of others. Considerable knowledge of audio and video recording techniques.Ability to interpret instrument and meter readings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematic drawings, etc.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in equipment or software. Some positions may require knowledge of copyright law and its applications to A/V materials.Experience supervising, training and managing employees.Understanding of proper equipment maintenance practices.Experience prioritizing various technical needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous supervisory or team lead experience.Prior experience with automation software such as Extron, or Crestron.Prior experience designing and deploying A/V and collaborative technologies.Prior experience in livestream broadcasting and content management systems (i.e. Panapto).Knowledge and experience with Windows and Mac Operating Systems.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties:

Staff Administration:1. Supervise staff of full and part-time student employees.2. Follow guidelines for filling vacancies.3. Establish in-service training program for employees.4. Provide scheduling that makes best use of staff in most cost effective manner, while providing necessary coverage.5. Evaluate performance of staff. 6. Communicate charges with Union Reservationist.7. Approve and turn in staff time sheets.Maintenance:1. Maintain a working inventory of all technical equipment.2. Provide procedure for controlled access to equipment.3. Provide ongoing preventative maintenance.4. Initiate repair as needed so as to provide for minimal disruption of Union operations.5. Establish supply and inventory of needed replacement items (bulbs, cords, etc.).Professionalism:1. Attend scheduled Union Administrative staff meetings.2. Maintain flexibility in order to meet changing needs of job.3. Serve on Union and University committees as requested.4. Attend conferences and workshops as appropriate.5. Meet with supervisor on a regular basis and keep informed of problems or concerns. 6. Maintain professional conduct and appearance.Service Co Worker Effectiveness:1. Maintains positive relationships w/faculty, staff, students, patrons and coworkers.2. Support, enforce, comply with and stay current about University and Union policies, procedures and mission statement.3. Demonstrates initiative and performs duties in a consistently accurate manner.4. Develop or assist with establishing goals, objectives, organization plans and special projects.5. Demonstrates a willingness to participate on Union and University committees.6. Commitment to professional growth and development.7. Attend reservations meeting weekly, anticipate and voice concernsSafety Accident Prevention:1. Report all unsafe personnel acts and unsafe physical conditions to supervisor and soon as you become aware of them.2. Use safe work habits and methods to prevent injuries.3. Use safety equipment properly, in the manner and method required or directed.4. Keep all equipment assigned in good working order and return to proper area when finished with use.Technical:1. Repair and maintenance of all technical equipment in good working conditions2. Train staff in advanced sound systems, on location video recordings and live streaming production services3. Maintain organized check out and return of all mobile sound system equipment4. Conduct onsite evaluations before event date(s)5. Coordinates with maintenance vendors to maintain event space audio and video software and hardware
