Television News Photographer
Position Overview:WINK News is seeking a talented and experienced Television News Photographer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for storytelling through the lens, a passion for capturing compelling visuals, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced news environment. This position requires a strong understanding of broadcast journalism, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality news content.
Key Responsibilities:- Capture high-quality video footage for daily news broadcasts, special reports, and feature stories.- Work closely with reporters, producers, and other newsroom staff to ensure visual content aligns with the overall storytelling goals.- Edit video footage efficiently and creatively to meet tight deadlines.- Operate and maintain camera equipment, lighting, and audio gear to ensure optimal performance.- Conduct live shots and on-location shoots, often under tight time constraints and varying weather conditions.- Ensure all video content meets WINK News standards for accuracy, clarity, and visual appeal.- Collaborate with the newsroom team to develop and execute creative visual storytelling ideas.
Qualifications:- Proven experience as a television news photographer or similar role in a broadcast news environment.- Proficiency with professional video cameras, editing software.- Strong visual storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail and composition.- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.- Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.- Minimum two years’ experience as a television news photographer.- Experience with live broadcasting and conducting live shots.- Knowledge of drone operation and FAA certification are a plus.
