Project DEFY

is a non profit based out of Bangalore, India that has been working in the sector of self directed learning through learning spaces called ‘Nooks’. The organisation works globally facilitating the setting up of ‘Nooks’ in communities hit by marginalisation and keen on creating their own learning systems.Overview :

A Hopper is responsible for creating Nooks in various communities. The Hopper shall be responsible for creating Nooks in India. The Hopper should be a strong community builder, who can listen, adapt and co-create the Nook with the community.Commitment :

By providing clear direction, setting expectations and goals, they help the Fellows work cohesively towards goals of the Nook and the community.Identifying opportunities for the growth of the Nook and Fellows*The above listed may not be all the tasks, and new tasks may emerge that need to be covered that cannot be envisioned at the moment.Hiring approach :

The Hopper is hired through a combination of interviews that help us understand past experiences, personal drive, hands-on skill and capacity to articulate. Given that Nooks are very different from most learning environments, we do not expect the candidate to know everything in advance.
