Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for University Relations, the Content Producer and Public Relations Assistant will support the Public Relations unit for the University Relations department. This is a part-time, on-site position that may require some evening and weekend hours in support of special events and projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Pitching events, faculty experts, and stories about academic programs, research, and student achievements/accomplishments.Researching, writing, and disseminating press releases.Coordinate, under the supervision of senior staff, media monitoring, tracking, and reporting.Assisting in event management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.Strong collaborative and cross-functional skills.Experience with social media platforms and web content development.Strong, crisp, lively writing.Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.An interest in and knowledge of local, regional, and national news trends.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and familiarity with media monitoring and database tools, including Meltwater.Knowledge and familiarity with MailChimp, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, and Drupal.
