Location:8162 S Priest Dr, Tempe, Arizona 85284 United States of AmericaJob DescriptionUnder the direction and guidance of the Design Manager, Responsible Engineer, or Designer, uses 2D and 3D CAD and modeling techniques to develop design packages which fulfill established design requirements. This includes (but is not limited to) independent creation and detailing of piece parts, weldments, assemblies, drawings, and supporting documentation.Job Responsibilities:Convert existing U-Haul Technical Center drawings from 2D AutoCAD to 3D InventorCreate accurate CAD data from hand sketches, verbal instructions, or prototypesManage and maintain CAD data using Autodesk VaultWork seamlessly with Engineering, R&D, and Mfg. to produce and update drawingsReview drawings and models prior to releaseDevelop understanding and familiarity with practices and products through exposureMinimum Qualifications:Computer Aided Design Certificate or 2+ years’ experience with Design & DraftingExperience reading, interpreting, and laying out engineering drawingsExperience creating detail drawings in a manner which communicates design intentProficient with Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks proficiency with ability to transition to Inventor consideredFamiliarity with ASME Y14.5 Drafting Standards and PracticesStrong mechanical aptitudeStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred:Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Design & DraftingFamiliarity with relevant industry standards, fasteners, and specificationsFamiliarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principlesFamiliarity with Autodesk Vault
