Sports Anchor/Reporter

CBS Austin -- located in the home of the Texas Longhorns & Austin FC -- is looking for an experienced weekend sports anchor and reporter. Qualified candidates must share our vision of producing and reporting on all platforms that stands out as being informative and entertaining for fans and non-fans alike.To be considered for this position, you must have a passion for going beyond scores and highlights and telling real stories. Strong writing, photography, and nonlinear editing skills are a must. The ideal candidate will also understand the importance of how sports reporting is changing in the digital landscape and will bring new ideas to how we cover sports. Demonstrated knowledge of how to position great content on air and on digital platforms is required. You must work well independently and as part of a team in a high energy, creative and collaborative environment.Requirements:Strong shooting, writing & video editing abilityAt least 2 years covering a high-level sports beat, both collegiate and professionalBachelor's degree in journalism or related subject preferredUse social media to build a dedicated audienceA demonstrated ability to separate from the pack and find original approaches to storytellingSkills:Photography/Video editing in Avid (for broadcast and digital)Adobe CC (Photoshop, Premiere)Live-U operationHigh-level organizational skillsSinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace!
