ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:TelevisaUnivision Austin, is looking for an assertive and passionate bilingual multimedia journalist. The ideal candidate is social media savvy and possesses solid news judgment with the ability to pivot and respond quickly in high pressure situations. In this role, the ideal candidate will pitch, execute, and anchor unique and native content for our digital platforms. Multimedia journalists are expected to work assignment desk, digital production, and special projects as needed and directed by News Management.ABOUT YOU:You are a dynamic and creative journalist who enjoys working with producers, assignment editors, photographers, and digital producers to execute creative and impactful stories across dayparts for linear and non-linear properties. You are an enthusiastic self-starter who loves working with people, is detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.YOUR DAY-DAY:You will anchor, produce, and report news stories using ENG equipment, non-linear editing equipment, and related broadcasting equipment and newsroom computer systemsWrite and proofread copy for accuracy prior to going on airResearch, investigate, interview, write, produce packages on tape and/or live from the fieldResearch, investigate, interview, write, produce, and publish content for our digital propertiesWork well with P2 and XD cameras to shoot interviewsEstablish a good working relationship with news managers, newscast producers, and anchors to ensure a well-paced, accurate, and informative broadcastMust be a strong and fast writer and have solid news judgment as a Multimedia JournalistAttend and participate in off-site company-sponsored and community events as assigned by station managementYOU HAVE:Four-year college degree/equivalent certificate from an accredited institutionTwo years of anchoring/on-air experienceStrong written and verbal communication skills in both English and SpanishMust be able to identify strong content on social media sites and translate it into on-air contentMust be PC proficient – Word, Excel, and Outlook, I-News software packagesMust have and maintain a good driving record and a valid driver’s license, along with the ability to drive dailyMust possess high ethical and journalistic standardsDetail-oriented with the ability to work with tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneouslyMust be a team player with solid news judgmentKnowledge of the Hispanic community and traditionsMust be able to work in AustinMust be able to work flexible hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidaysOUR BENEFITS:TelevisaUnivision believes that a happy, well-balanced employee is what makes our culture thrive.
