The compassion, encouragement and level of experience that you will be exposed to will put you on a career path full of opportunities for advancement.Description Of The PositionThe Graphic Designer will work closely with the department head to design but not limited to print materials, a variety of collateral pieces, websites, and advertising. Team Member will work independently under minimal supervision. This position relies on experience, instructions, pre-established guidelines, and very good judgment to perform the functions of the job. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.Primary Duties, Responsibilities, And TasksAll team members are obligated to support and uphold the Valley View Casino & Hotel’s Standards of Excellence as outlined in the Team Member Guide to Success.Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction. Greet guests in a courteous and caring manner using personalized service.Team Member will be responsible for the creation of the following:Publication and newspaper advertisementsTournament materialsInvitations, brochures, posters, logos and fliersMiscellaneous collateralSignageOn-Property: Posters, duratrans, outdoor signs, gaming materials, and other projects as assigned.Off-Property: Outdoor signageSpecial Events materialsAdvertisement campaigns, couponsPresentation materials including PowerPoint PresentationsPresentation production boardsResponsible for quality control of pre-press production.Preparation of computer artwork for printing.Macintosh computer system archiving.Producing fundamental videos and animationsEstablishing and nurturing relationships with both vendors and guestsRemaining updated with the latest design trends and advancements in the casino industrySupporting the overall brand development to ensure uniformity across all platforms and within the casino.Operating HP printers, executing the cutting and mounting of signs, and dispatching signs for printing.Responsible for the successful completion of multiple design projects using time management and organizational skills.Team member will use independent very good judgment while creative freedom and latitude given.Team member is expected to meet criteria set forth with a pre-determined deadline.Assists team members in the department with signage production including cutting, ripping files and cataloging for property disbursement.Maintains a thorough knowledge of company facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow Team Members of same, whenever possible.Other duties as assigned by management.Responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical mannerResponsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.Adheres to performance standards, company policies and procedures, as they relate to the department.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising, marketing or a related area. A minimum of three years of professional experience in areas like design, print advertising, video & animation, and brand development.Solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office on a Macintosh OS platform.Portfolio of work including commercially printed pieces and/or functioning websites.Ability to take direction and creative input from various sources and incorporate those into the project design.Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.Must be capable of completing design projects by using broad scope of direction and using independent judgment, creative freedom, and latitude.Must have the ability to create designs that are inventive, imaginative, and original while maintaining the strategic direction set forth prior to commencement.Must have the ability to deliver projects that meet the criteria set forth with a pre-determined deadline.Ability to speak and understand the English language.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions, and policies and procedure manuals written in the English language.Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form referring to established guidelines and policies and procedures.Ability to define problems involving several concrete variables, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to carry out primary duties, responsibilities, and tasks.Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Must use very good judgment when providing information to our guests and maintain positive guest relations at all times.Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing and a drug screening test.Preferred QualificationsAbility to understand oral and verbal communication while using Valley View Casino & Hotel’s communication tools which include but are not limited to radios, cell phones, and or email.Experience and visual understanding of social media platforms that include but are not limited to the web, Facebook, X and Pandora.Experience in Photography including food, architecture, and portraits.Physical Requirements Of The PositionClear vision (close, distant, color, peripheral, and depth perception) is needed for navigating office and casino environments, reading, and reviewing reports and policies, operating data processing equipment and other essential job functions.While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear.The Team Member is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, manipulate, handle, or feel.The Team Member is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Working ConditionsThe Casino is open 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week; therefore, you must be flexible to work any and all shifts.While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.The Team Member is usually subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.The Team Member is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
