Seeking A Sports EditorDo you want to be the voice of sports in a great sports town? The Nashville News of Nashville, Ill., is seeking a new sports editor and you could be the person for the job! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the basics of print, digital, and social media journalism and have the ability to write, shoot photos, and lay out pages for the sports section of our 4,800 circulation weekly newspaper.Qualifications:In-depth sports knowledge is essential.Experience with photography, online, and social media promotion is expected.Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and a good driving record are required.Previous sports writing experience is preferred, but recent grads are encouraged to apply.An aptitude for newspaper work is desired.A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is strongly preferred.The ability and willingness to familiarize oneself with the Nashville Hornets Sports community and the community of Nashville as a whole. Additional duties will include assistance with general news, circulation, and office work, and the candidate we are seeking will be part of a team working to put out the best community newspaper possible.
