As a Designer for our K-12 Studio you will play a pivotal role in the daily design and technical development of projects within our firm. Your responsibilities will extend to the coordination of all aspects of project document development and delivery. As part of the project design team, you will collaborate and contribute to the production of high-quality work products. Adherence to project schedules, budgets, and detailed work plans will be paramount in this integral position.The Successful Candidate Will

Provide planning, design and coordination of different size projects (from small to large and complex).Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs as well as carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.Coordinate drawings and specifications directly with the specification writer and assist in preparing sections as assigned.Review cost estimates for alignment with the design.Provide technical guidance to less experienced design / architectural staff.Apply DLR Group practice standards to project deliverables across the project team.Demonstrate a strong foundation of comprehensive design and technical skillsets.Engage and guide innovative idea generation within the integrated team in pursuit of design excellence.Ensure BIM standards are applied to projects and coordinate with PM, BIM Manager and other members of the integrated project design teams.Ensure QA/QC procedures are met and clash detection issues are resolved.Translate design intent and thought leadership concepts into documentation.Actively lead collaboration at project and integrated team level by generating design ideas and solutions.Effectively communicate with project team members through timely and appropriate written, oral and visual means.Engage peers and specialty experts to proactively develop holistic solutions.Participate in client presentations.Meet deliverable deadlines to maintain overall project schedule and timelines.Understand construction and material costs in alignment with project budget.Be proficient in specific technical design aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s need.Apply knowledge of design techniques, tools and sustainable design principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, drawings, reports, models and other related deliverables.Exhibit initiative, process innovation, problem-solving and decision-making quality with high attention to detail, precision and accuracy at a project component level.Assists in marketing and BD pursuits.Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in architecture or Master's degree7+ years minimum of professional relevant experience (K-12)Proficient in Revit and BluebeamStrong communication and public speaking skills to participate in interviews and client presentations.The ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks.Preferred Qualifications
