Product Designer

Hyperlite Mountain Gear is seeking passionate outdoor enthusiasts to join their team as Product Designers. If you are an avid ultralight hiker, camper, or backpacker with deep knowledge of backcountry and multi-day hiking and camping, this might be the perfect opportunity for you. Experience with the Hyperlite product line is a huge plus.The Product Designer role involves taking a product from briefing to commercialization, developing design concepts, creating product patterns, and maintaining product documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for building sewn mockups, producing prototypes, improving existing products, and conducting field tests.ResponsibilitiesBuilding sewn mockups and initial prototypes to validate design conceptsCreating and maintaining product patternsCreating and maintaining product documentationProduce prototypes and test functionalityImprove the design of existing productsPlanning and executing multiple field tests for each productAggregating and sharing field test data/feedbackCollaborating with other Product Designers to make product changes based on field test feedbackConsidering MSRP and target cost, as laid out in the product brief, when choosing materials and trimsRequirementsWork experience as a Product Designer or similar role preferredExperience in industrial designHands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) toolsBSc/MSc in Product Design, Manufacturing Design Engineering, or relevant field
