Art Adjunct

The Art Adjunct Instructor at South Piedmont Community College (SPCC) provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations in the School of Arts and Sciences. SPCC is currently seeking Part-time Art Adjunct Instructors to teach in the following areas: Art Appreciation, 2D Design, 3D Design, Computer Art, Digital Photography, Ceramics, and/or other courses. Courses will be primarily located on SPCC’s Monroe Campus, as well as occasionally in Polkton and Waxhaw.Responsibilities:Exhibit an uncompromising commitment to South Piedmont Community College as a learning-centered college through the College’s mission, vision, values, core skills, and learning outcomes, and delivery of instruction and servicesDevelop learning strategies and curriculum that will promote successful teaching and learning in a learning-centered environmentFacilitate learning through various activitiesActively participate in continuous improvement planningSelect and use appropriate learning materials and resources to enhance learningStay current with developments in technology and learning theoryDemonstrate professionalism in planning and developmentContinue professional development to meet the needs of a learning-centered collegeMaintain necessary credentials for the positionProvide accessibility to students and colleaguesMaintain and submit all required class records and reports on timeAccept teaching assignments based on the college's needsPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorsRequired Qualifications:A Master’s degree in the teaching area OR a completed Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching disciplinePreferred Qualifications:Community college teaching experienceOnline teaching experienceExperience with Moodle as a course delivery systemSouth Piedmont Community College provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees based on job-related criteria without discrimination.
