17193Job Description:What We Are Looking ForThe Associate Director (AD) of Sales, Marketing, and Publicity is a leadership team position at Baylor University Press (BUP). The AD of Sales, Marketing, and Publicity contributes to BUP's publishing philosophy, fulfillment of its mission, and day-to-day activities by providing strategic leadership in these areas. The AD of Sales, Marketing, and Publicity oversees sales of all BUP titles in print and digital formats, offers analysis of publishing revenues generated from BUP books, and forecasts the contribution of new titles to the Press's business. The AD of Sales, Marketing, and Publicity administers all aspects of the Press's marketing efforts, including ads, social media, email marketing, sponsorships, project-specific marketing plans, and events.A Bachelor's Degree with three years of relevant experience is required. A Bachelor's Degree and five years of relevant work experience are preferred.All applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.What You Will DoProvide strategic leadership to the Press in the areas of sales, marketing, and publicity, offering analysis of publishing revenues and forecasting the contribution of new titles to the Press's businessProvide oversight to the areas of sales management and revenue generation, exploring new avenues of revenue generation for Press publications, and managing all activities pertaining to the book-selling process, including:

Inventory managementLow-stock reporting and responseSales channel development and enhancementSales trend analysis and reportingDatabase management and metadata exportingSales rep managementExhibit managementActivities that generate revenue for the Press through sales; coordinate with AD of Production to generate new opportunities for the Press in the area of e-commerce

Coordinate all marketing activities for the Press, booking and placing ads, managing social media and email marketing, pursuing sponsorships, and developing and executing book-specific marketing plansSupervise all publicity efforts on behalf of the Press, creating review lists and subsequent gratis mailings, coordinating with mediate for any book/author/Press coverage, maintaining relationships with appropriate publicists and publication editors, creating and sending press releases and advance reading copy campaigns, curating cover copy endorsements and promotional review quotes, and pursuing awards on behalf of BUP booksManage the Press's annual sales catalog, compiling all text descriptions into a design document, coordinating with the Press's graphic designer on layout graphics, producing and acquiring mailing lists, copyediting and refining to a print-ready document, coordinating with printers, executing bulk mailing, and digitizing catalog for online viewing and sharingAdminister the Press's annual events calendar, coordinating author events, book-specific events, Baylor events, exhibits, conferences, and receptionsPerform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.Ability to comply with University policies.Maintain regular and punctual attendance.What You Can ExpectAs part of the Baylor family, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous time off, tuition remission, and outstanding automatic retirement contributions.
