is seeking a seasoned Lead Preditor who thrives in the dynamic world of viral news journalism. This individual must possess profound expertise in non-linear editing coupled with mastery in video editing, content crafting, scriptwriting, and production, all tailored to a high-energy environment akin to a fast-paced film magazine. The ideal candidate embodies leadership qualities, offering guidance and mentorship while seamlessly collaborating with diverse production units. You must excel in a setting that demands autonomy as well as teamwork across departments to contribute to crucial aspects of the publication.Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate exceptional operational proficiencyAbility to deliver under tight deadlines and live conditions with minimal oversightDeep understanding of broadcast, digital, and social media platforms, including workflows, equipment, facility operations, and troubleshooting related to editing tasksHandle a broad spectrum of duties and technologies specific to editing, such as advanced non-linear editing systems, graphic design, media management, broadcast routers, technical standards, media restoration, and ingestion systems, along with proficiency in After Effects, Photoshop, and content enhancement toolsPerform high-level quality assurance, implementing corrective measures to maintain and/or elevate content qualityExcellent organizational, efficiency, and planning abilitiesEngage in and contribute to training initiatives for personal developmentStay current with new technology and workflow changes expected to assist in training others and creating training materialsCapable of interpreting complex information and communicating it effectively to appropriate team membersAddress operational issues and equipment malfunctions, offering solutions or resolving problemsStay informed about technological advancements and workflow improvements to ensure optimal efficiencyFoster productive interactions with operational counterparts and support departments to achieve project deadlines and adhere to guidelinesPossess an in-depth knowledge of the workflow of various business units and their integration with production operationsOffer exemplary service to all clients as defined by managementMentor and guide staff & peersIndependently manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesMaintain records & reports on working conditions, equipment status, and other necessary documentationBasic Requirements

At least four (4) years of editing experience or a relevant role, with exposure to a large market or network-level televisionSkilled in non-linear editing systemsAdaptability to a fast-paced environment, capable of swift editing turnaroundsStrong computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and effective communication skillsAvailability for night, weekend, and holiday shifts, with flexibility to adjust work schedules for project needsDemonstrated expertise in production workflows, storytelling, and ability to adhere to specific thematic or stylistic guidelinesCreative in generating story ideas and executing tasks within strict deadlinesPreferred Skills

Familiarity with:Final Cut ProAfter EffectsENPSKnowledge of ENG setups including:

lighting, audio recording, and camera operation

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Studio Production, Journalism,

OR

at least 5 working years of relevant experience in the content creation industries.Remuneration
