We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Brand Designer to join our team at Empowered!In this role, you will work closely with our Director of Brand Strategy and Communications to lead overall design for our brand. You will also be responsible for collaborating with internal clients to ensure consistent and visual execution of our brand and offerings. Your primary responsibilities will be developing visual concepts and designs that align with our brand’s identity and meet the needs of our internal clients, our teacher community, and our partners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and experience with brand design and execution.Your Responsibilities IncludeDevelop visual concepts and designs that align with our brand’s identity and satisfy internal and customer audiences.Create work (digital and physical) that properly positions, promotes, and showcases our brand and the value our offerings create.Research current design and execution trends and best practices in our industry/space.Present work to internal and external clients to gather and incorporate appropriate feedback.Maintain Brand Guidelines and Digital Guidelines, brand assets, media, and developed materials.Manage multiple day-to-day design projects and our long-term goal of consistency.Lead efforts to write headlines and other marketing copy and to proofread and edit copy provided by colleagues.Manage all photo and video projects (production and post-production).Provide creative direction and actionable feedback to colleagues who create content as part of their work.Participate in team meetings and provide input on design-related topics and projects.Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

5+ years of design and brand execution experience, ideally in a K-12/education and/or non-profit setting.Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with comfort working in and creating elements for Canva.Proven track record of creating engaging content for marketing campaigns, social media, and collateral pieces.Comfort designing swag (stickers, shirts, tote bags, posters, etc.) that are current and align with an established brand.Experience collaborating with untrained designers to help align their work with brand and digital guidelines.Extensive experience writing compelling marketing copy and enhancing overall copy.Strong communication and time management skills.Strong collaboration skills combined with individual contributor capabilities.Familiarity with how AI can help improve efficiency and overall work while keeping our brand and tone distinctly human.
