About the Location

Hybrid Position:This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.

About the Job

This job is responsible for developing and implementing the donor engagement, fundraising, and cause-related marketing strategies to increase individual contributions (small and large), as well as corporate partnerships, in support of PetSmart Charities’ organizational strategy and mission across US and Canada. This job oversees the Donor Relation & Stewardship Coordinator, and report to the Senior Director of Integrated Marketing and Communications. This role is in the Phoenix office as hybrid and not open to remote.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFundraisingApply fundraising expertise to support PetSmart POS fundraising strategy and marketing, inclusive of associate engagement.Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive and sustainable plan that includes diverse funding sources to ensure the continuation of necessary financial support for current and future programs and initiatives.Oversee fundraising for direct individual giving (direct to PetSmart Charities, associate giving), corporate partnerships (PetSmart and others) and workplace giving.In partnership with the Leadership Team, set short and long-term fundraising goals and establish appropriate metrics to measure performance and progress towards those goals, monitor and report on the progress of the comprehensive development strategy on a regular basis.Donor Marketing and EngagementManage the overarching strategy for growing individual contributions, including optimizing the donor journey, developing and managing marketing campaigns, and the annual associate giving campaign.Develop strategic and tactical briefs that leverage cross-channel tactics, working with the Integrated Marketing team to execute campaigns.Manage and maintain a donor database, leading projects with the Systems team and Digital Marketing team to make optimizations.Collaborate and gain cross-organization (Charities and PetSmart) alignment and support to achieve strategic objectives.Represent PetSmart Charities externally as required to promote the mission, brand, and strategic focus.Corporate PartnershipsManage and execute vendor agreements in collaboration with Legal and Finance teams.Manage and vet potential and/or existing cause marketing partnerships with organizations to increase revenue, reach, and visibility.Support campaign development and execution with Integrated Marketing team, and PetSmart Vendor Marketing teams when relevant.Team ManagementManage, mentor, and provide vision for Donor Relations & Stewardship Coordinator to ensure a highly motivated, positive, and productive team consistent with organizational culture and core values.Plan and prioritize the work activities of assigned associates. Ensure clarity of roles, functional alignment, and expectations.Develop associates’ skills and ensure team has well-defined development plans and regularly discuss progress.Manage contractors and/or consultants as applicable to ensure project outcomes are met.Created a donor-focused culture, sharing learnings and developing best practices for the broader Integrated Marketing team.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job supervises a Donor Relations & Stewardship CoordinatorTravel Requirements10-20%Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree required.7+ years of demonstrated nonprofit fundraising and marketing experience. A minimum of two (2) years of previous management experience.Demonstrated track record of achieving an organization’s vision by spearheading development strategies, cultivating crucial partnerships, and expanding the reach of work.Experience working with executive leadership to set and achieve organizational development goals and strategies.Proficient in donor database analysis to determine major donors.Experience designing and implementing fundraising programs and campaigns.Technical SkillsMust demonstrate business acumen.Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must possess excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.Must possess outstanding organizational skills, including attention to detail.Must demonstrate ability to build partnerships/relationships with internal and external partners, leveraging interpersonal skills to build trust.Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite including experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.Must demonstrate a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal ability and flexibility.Certificate, Licenses, and RegistrationsNone
