KABB/KMYS Morning Executive Producer
KABB/KMYS has an immediate opening for a Morning Executive Producer to oversee multi-platform news content for overall fairness, balance, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will help oversee a team of producers and from time to time produce daily newscasts and oversee the production of newscasts and special programming. You will work closely with producers and reporters on daily selection and coverage. As a newsroom leader, the expectation is that the Executive Producer will lead by example.Responsibilities:Oversee daily newscasts to ensure serving local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, protect, and empower audiencesSupervise producers and reporters, review scripts, and provide feedback to encourage powerful storytellingManage the newsroom and handle breaking news situations to empower and grow audiencesCollaborate with News Directors and other station managers to create special segmentsPlan and oversee continuity into upcoming newscastsSkills and Qualifications:Proven track record of creating compelling and engaging stories across multiple platformsAbility to perform well under pressure, experience managing breaking news, and meeting strict deadlinesAbility to identify problems and provide solutionsStrong commitment to journalistic standards and ethicsExtraordinary people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivatingStrong understanding of how to drive digital trafficMinimum of 3-4 years of experience producing in a television news environment or equivalentA college degree in Journalism or a related field is preferredStrong writing skills and a proven track record of getting results on initiativesSinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug-Free Workplace!
