Position Title: Head of Health Sciences Library Services - DCOM, KnoxvilleDepartment: FINLEY LEARNING RESOURCE CNTPosition Category: Staff Full TimeJob Description: Provide leadership in library services, collections, and personnel for the university's medical, nursing, dentistry, veterinary, and other health sciences programs; coordinate collection development and collection assessment for these programs; review, maintain, and assist in developing documentation to support the library's strategic planning and assessment processes for health sciences.Required Qualifications: M.L.S. from an ALA accredited program; minimum of 4 years of librarian experience in an academic or medical library with a minimum of 2 years serving graduate health sciences programs; some supervisory experience; some collection development and collection assessment experience in health sciences areas.Preferred Qualifications: Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) credential; demonstrated knowledge of health sciences resources and performing health sciences literature searches; additional advanced degree in an area relevant to LMU's programs.Physical DemandsCampus: LMU-KnoxvilleJob Duties:- Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.- Provide leadership and direct supervision for librarians serving health sciences programs throughout LMU's sites.- Review, maintain, and assist in developing documentation to support strategic planning and assessment processes, and perform other administrative tasks.- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and training of new library personnel serving health sciences programs.- Coordinate subject liaison services for health sciences and integrate library instruction into courses in conjunction with other librarians.- Provide reference services to faculty, staff, and students at the DCOM-Knoxville site and the university community as needed.- Coordinate collection development and conduct collection assessment activities for the Reed Health Sciences Library collaborating with other librarians.- Participate in faculty and student library and technology workshops.- Keep current on relevant professional developments.- Perform other duties as assigned.Posting Number: S03811PJob Open Date: 07/03/2024Job Close Date: 10/31/2024Open Until Filled: NoAbout the Institution: Lincoln Memorial University is a values-based learning community dedicated to providing educational experiences in the liberal arts and professional studies.
