Marketing Program Manager

(MPM) at MicroStrategy is a vital role that will oversee numerous initiatives to ensure they are completed on schedule and deliver outstanding business outcomes. The role encompasses strategic planning in collaboration with marketing leaders, including the development of quarterly priorities, objectives, and success measures. Additionally, the MPM will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the marketing department, creating performance reports and providing regular updates on progress towards these KPIs.

The MPM will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and work across the marketing team to ensure all project management processes are followed according to best practices. You will also maintain alignment between functional areas and geographies through comprehensive internal communications, organizing department-wide meetings and implementing tools and processes necessary to enable a cohesive and well-informed marketing team.

Responsibilities

Project ManagementAdminister our project management system and provide the policies and guidance needed to ensure consistent, effective usage across the department.Oversee strategic marketing initiatives from inception to completion, driving toward timely deliveries and outstanding outcomes.Coordinate cross-functional teams to operate cohesively and efficiently to optimize resources.

Strategic PlanningManage the annual and quarterly planning process, collaborating with marketing leaders to build plans that include SMART goals, tactics, timelines, and success measures.Ensure plans are continuously updated and communicated as department goals or priorities shift.

KPI ManagementIdentify key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to marketing goals and strategies, and develop reports needed to continuously monitor performance.Keep the entire marketing team informed on progress or risks in achieving performance goals.

Budget ManagementAssist in budget development, procurement, and expense tracking for the department.Liaise with finance as needed for budget reporting and reconciliation.

Communication & Status ReportingManage internal department communications to keep the team informed and aligned on the status of key initiatives, KPIs, procedures, and departmental changes.Organize department meetings and identify important agenda topics to continuously educate, inspire, and foster creativity and excellence.

Team DevelopmentLeverage your oversight of department projects to identify opportunities for development and training of marketing team members.Stay abreast of trends in B2B marketing strategy and execution to suggest new approaches that can improve performance and goal achievement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.Advanced degree or certifications in marketing, project management, or business analytics preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in program or project management within a marketing department.Demonstrated expertise in cross-functional planning and project oversight to deliver successful outcomes.Experience creating and managing KPIs, performance reports, and budgets.Strong leadership and collaboration skills with ability to guide teams to establish efficient processes and implement best practices.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Proficiency in managing multiple communication channels and organizing team meetings.Proactive in anticipating challenges, identifying risks, and addressing them effectively.Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.Strong attention to detail and precision in work.Technical Skills

Mastery in the effective administration and use of project management tools, such as Asana, Trello, Jira, etc.Strong data analysis skills for interpreting complex data into business insights.Experience with business intelligence reporting tools, such as MicroStrategy (preferred), Tableau, or others.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.Additional Information
