– Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance is a public-private partnership dedicated to growing the economy in Southern Nevada through connectivity, community development, and strong business recruitment, retention, and outreach. As Southern Nevada’s regional development authority, LVGEA’s vision is to help residents thrive in a global economy by fostering a more prosperous, diverse, and connected regional economy. The Community Development team is a dynamic, fun, fast-paced team within a regionally connected business organization that strives to advance organizational strategies through engagement, information, events, and storytelling.

POSITION OVERVIEW : LVGEA is looking for a Public Relations and Corporate Communications Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in journalism, coupled with a proven track record in managing corporate communications, public relations, crisis communications, board communications, and social media activities for organizations. This role requires expertise in brand communications, executive communications, crisis management, content strategy, and editorial calendar management. Social media communications is only a small portion of this role which will guide communications for our boutique agency.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive public relations and social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty.

• Create compelling content across various platforms, including press releases, white papers, blog posts, social media posts, and weekly/monthly newsletters.

• Manage executive communications, ensuring consistent messaging and brand voice.

• Act as an external conduit for the organization, handling media inquiries and interviews, and seamlessly engaging with cross-functional external stakeholders to capitalize on all earned and owned brand-building activities.

• Lead crisis communications efforts, including developing response strategies and managing communication channels.

• Collaborate with internal teams to align PR and social media activities with overall marketing objectives.

• Monitor and analyze public relations, influencer relations, and social media metrics to track performance and optimize impact.

• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing public relations and social media activities for organizations.

• Proven expertise in executive communications, crisis communications, content strategy, and editorial calendar management.

• Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.

• Strong analytical skills and experience in building performance reports.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and content creation.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.

• Basic photography, video and photo editing skills preferred.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in PR agencies or in-house PR departments.

Expertise with industry-specific trends, tools, and digital platforms such as AirTable, Hubspot, WordPress, ChatGPT, etc.

Knowledge of SEO principles and strategies.

Certification in public relations or social media management is a plus.

COMPENSATION

– Salary range is commensurate with the candidate’s experience. You will receive a highly- competitive benefits package (401K, medical, dental, vision, life, etc.) as well as three weeks paid time off, exclusive of holidays.
