About the role:

We are seeking for a talented Deputy Editor to join us! Deputy Editor will use scientific expertise, knowledge and network to develop one or more related journals, commission content, and represent Wiley within the relevant scientific community.

How you will make an impact:Builds relationships and drives submissions from authors (1 on 1)Has finger on the pulse of community and specific subject area.Works with EiC to define journal aims and scope and recommend updatesWorks with EiC to recommend and appoint editorial board members, direct communication with EBMsWorks with manager to distribute commissioning KPIs and resourcingConstant community outreach (virtual and in-person) to enhance personal network, commissioning, journal and Wiley visibility, understanding of the subject and communityRepresents journals/Wiley at scientific conferences and eventsLead generation and ideas for other products passed on to appropriate colleaguesWorks across several titles (1-2 main titles and additional 2-3 supporting titles) with several EiCs – depending on size of journals

What we look for:PhD in related field, post-doctoral experience would be idealHave manuscript handling experience (prescreening, peer review, final decision, appeals and integrity cases).Subject-Matter Expertise (academic)Displays high integrity and honestyAble to build relationships and credibility with authors, editorial boardand wider communityTakes a strategic perspective and sets exciting vision and direction for journals with other handling editorsResult-driven with strong focus on article output growthExcellent command of English(to scientific and professional proficiency).
