UFG is looking for a

Marketing Representative

to join the team who will create and maintain conditions to generate profitable premium through territory management, agency management, product management, and market intelligence. In addition, the role is responsible for fostering, assisting, and promoting company staff and agency personnel relationships.While this is a remote opportunity, the candidate should reside in the state of Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, or Georgia.Responsibilities:

Responsible for territory management to include completion of required annual Territorial Market Report.Maintain a current awareness of demographic, economic, business, legal, and public policy conditions present in the assigned geographic territory in order to aid in developing, implementing, and controlling strategies and objectives.Responsible for agency management to include creation of required annual Agency Prospecting Plan, making prospective agency calls, implementing required New Agent Development Plan, completing Agency Business Planning, conducting formal agency reviews, making regular agency visitations, and conducting agency terminations.Manage the profitable impact of the assigned agency plant on results through properly selecting, developing, and monitoring our agency relationships.Manage the products and services of UFG to achieve the maximum competitive edge and profit potential within the assigned agency plant. Conduct agency education, promote products, and agency accounting.Keep abreast of current information on forces in the insurance market to ensure that UFG can maintain a prudent competitive posture. Gather soft and hard data from agency and insurance sources.Assist underwriters through field underwriting of new and renew risks and provide field inspections as needed by completing Marketing Loss Control surveys.Pre-qualify new risk submissions and provide information on renewals when needed. Limited underwriting authority may be granted by the Underwriting Manager.Qualifications:

Education:

Four-year college degree preferredExperience:

3+ years marketing and/or underwriting experience with a property and casualty companyWorking Conditions:

The position will frequently involve irregular and extended working hoursOvernight travel is requiredThe use of a company vehicle will require an acceptable driving recordKnowledge, skills & abilities:

Conceptual knowledge of underwriting, claims, loss control, premium audit, billing, and accounting functions.Must possess good planning and organizing habits, written and oral communication skills, analysis and problem-solving skills, and social interaction skills.Strong negotiation and sales/marketing skillset.
