The Communications Department of the Diocese of Camden is a dynamic and innovative advocate for the Catholic faith in South Jersey dedicated to educating and energizing both the Catholic faithful and those who support our ministries of spirituality, schooling and social justice. We pride ourselves on creativity, excellence, and a commitment to engaging our audience across various social media and traditional media platforms.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a talented Social Media Content Creator/Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about storytelling, creative in content development, and savvy with social media trends and platforms. You will play a key role in crafting compelling content that resonates with our audience, drives engagement, and promotes the Catholic Church, ministries and schools.Full-time (35 hours per week), including occasional evening and weekend hours throughout the year, reporting from diocesan events.ResponsibilitiesDevelop engaging and original content for our social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.Write compelling copy, captions, and posts that reflect our brand voice and messaging.Write full-length articles for our Catholic Star Herald newspaper and website.Collaborate with the communications team to brainstorm and execute content ideas, campaigns, and strategies.Stay up-to-date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms to ensure content relevance and effectiveness.Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.Engage with our online community, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Maintain a content calendar and schedule posts for optimal reach and engagement.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.Proven experience as a social media content creator, with a strong portfolio showcasing writing and creative skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and grammar.Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines without compromising quality.Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of brand identity.Significant experience with graphic design, photography, videography and photo/video editingExcellent team communication skillsThe ability to work both independently and within a team environmentValid drivers licensePreferred knowledge
