Johnson & Johnson Medtech is recruiting for a Lead UX Designer. This position is located in Santa Clara, California.

Overview

You will join the Human Factors & Experience Design (HFXD) team and lead all aspects of UX strategy on the OTTAVA surgical robotic system and related experiences.

Working closely with designers, product management, and human factors, you will drive the future of surgical robotics. Your day-to-day will incorporate concepting inspiring north stars, aligning designs across the team to the roadmap, and crafting the best user experience for the entire medical team. Surgery is a team sport, so you will be encouraged to become familiar with a range of user types across a variety of clinical specialties. You'll bring your passion for design to a broad range of projects using both internal and external resources. Although the scope of your work is focused on digital interactions, this role should consider the physical experience as well.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead UX design strategy and vision for the OTTAVA surgical robotCraft visions, concepts, and UX direction for multiple robotic systemsAlign the work across a team of UX designers to a single platform experienceWork with industrial designers, human factors engineers, and user research managers to promote a unified vision of the user's best experienceCollaborate with teams and leadership to align experience expectations across multiple releasesMentor and develop talent of other UX designers within the teamPartner with fellow HFXD leaders to craft the team culture and advance the team's overall impact across experiences we work onQualifications:

Education:

Masters or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction, Digital/Visual Design, Industrial Design, or other related fieldRequired Skills & Experience:

At least 8 years of professional experience2+ years leading UX teams (management experience is not necessary)Experience being a hands-on designer and fluent with typical UX design tools (Adobe Suite, Figma, etc.)Portfolio showing that you drive competitive and inspiring designs, work in a sophisticated team structure, and give us a sense of your own design processAbility to work onsite in Santa Clara, CA for 5 days a weekPreferred Skills & Experience:

Familiarity with the regulations of the medical or pharmaceutical industryRobust understanding of the software implementation processExperience crafting digital experiences for medical devices and/or other physical devicesOther:

This position is based in Santa Clara and requires the ability to travel up to 10%, international and domesticThe anticipated base pay range for this position is [$122,500] to [$211,400]. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
