Marketing & Communications Manager

role will be a key contributor leading United Aviate Academy (UAA)’s marketing and communications strategy both internally and externally. This role will serve as a primary liaison with the UAA leadership team, United Airlines (UA) Corporate Communications and Aviate program marketing teams. The Manager will work with assigned business units to develop and execute marketing communication programs, collateral, and events that support strategic marketing and branding initiatives.Duties/Responsibilities·

Support UAA communications and marketing strategy focused on growth, retention, and engagement with online communities through development, planning, and execution.·

Generate and execute communications targeting UAA prospective/current students and stakeholders audiences.·

Work closely with UAA’s leadership and business units to synthesize marketing & communications needs, create a marketing & communications plan, and drive activity throughout the year.·

Develop and leverage standard work for message mapping to clearly articulate value propositions.·

Work cross-functionally with UA teams to ensure regular updates and streamlined messaging about onsite activities, milestones and events.·

Proactively manage vendor relationships working with parent company (UA) where necessary ensuring procurement processes, procedures, and budgeting is adhered to.·

As the brand ambassador, author and edit collateral and other marketing & communications assets to promote UAA and its overall brand.·

Manage and participate in tradeshows and/or Academy events to support all marketing, communications, and branding efforts.·

Prepare presentations geared towards internal and external customers including the design, development, and execution of monthly and/or quarterly UAA board book and meeting updates.·

Manage the marking & communications budget working cross-functionally on customers’ needs for the year.·

Develop and maintain UAA website content including program overview, application availability and program benefits.·

Manage social media accounts (i.e. Instagram and LinkedIn) to ensure company branding and consistency is maintained across all platforms.·

Analyze primary and secondary research to develop effective marketing strategy and present it to stakeholders.·

Develop and maintain monthly UA visits and/or upcoming events and initiatives to ensure UAA team is prepared and ready.·

Serves as the Media POC/Media Editor for all on campus events related to local, state, federal administration, and UA corporate.·

Creative and strategy lead to support student and employee culture with a drive around the CORE4, DE&I, and B2B ideas.·

Act as the lead storyteller for the Academy; understanding the current state of the student culture and determining areas of risk and solutioning ideas.·

Lead and foster engagement initiatives utilizing and developing surveys, managing Town Halls for students and employees, as well as other engagement channels such as Fireside Chats, etc.·

Evaluate current digital content gaps and opportunities to improve brand recognition of the Academy and communication lags.·

Develop marketing materials and assets to support the Academy recruiting efforts.·

Assist management with Ad-Hoc value-add projects.·

Generate and execute communications targeting United Aviate Academy prospective/current students and stakeholders audiences.·

Perform other tasks as assigned.QualificationsExperience3+ years’ experience in the field or equivalentProven experience and capabilities in marketing and communication strategySocial media savvy with user generated content, community management and content planningStrong project management skills - experience prioritizing projects/tasks, establishing timelines, as well as collaborating with and receiving approval from multiple stakeholdersExperience creating digital assets with a creative platform like Canva or Adobe productsCopywriting for digital communications (e-blasts, newsletters, invitations, etc.), web and blog (SEO), and print media (flyers, profile sheets, brochures, banners, etc.)Experienced with marketing automation best practices and digital platforms such as Constant Contact, Google Analytics, Instagram Professional Dashboard (or social media reporting equivalent)Empathic team managerStrong leader across different business unitsProfound strategic and management skillsCapability to manage complex strategic requirementsCapability to create product-related content focused on value proposition, and internal and external customer relevanceIndependent and accountableProject Management and Change Management preferredProficiency in Adobe Suite, Design Software/Platforms, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point, including advanced Excel skillsMicrosoft Teams, SharePoint, PowerBI and other related systems experience a plusProven track record of independently executing communications plansPassionate, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skillsEducationBachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing and Communications or equivalent leadership experienceExcellent listening, oral and written communications skills.Customer service oriented.Strong problem solving and analysis skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and aviation scheduling systems.Knowledge of Aviation regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices.Knowledge of United Airlines policies, procedures, and standards.Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items.Courage to make key decisions and advise leadership with professionalism & poise.Comfortable working in ambiguous situationsStrong ability to use data & analytics; determine key decisions and identify actions for best resultsBuild strong partnerships across the business areas, operations, standards, safety, student services, and United Airlines.Commitment to the company culture as a subsidiary of United Airlines and valuing the Core4.Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, valuing compliance & ethical behavior, governance & controls, and adhering to company and financial policies.EEO Statement:
