Job Summary:

Under the direction of the SVP of Sales, the VP of Health Plan, Payer Sales ensures the products and services offered meet the current and emerging needs of our health plan/payer business; ensures the financial viability of the business; holds responsibility for the business growth potential growth in revenue and gross margin. Works with leaders of Operations and Organizational Resource Teams to ensure a compelling and scalable value proposition for our customers and their constituents.

Key Responsibilities:Engages in client relationship building to secure new business opportunitiesActively builds influential relationships at the operating and senior management levelsLeads new business development efforts for national and/or high-profile hospitals and health systems or plans within the central and western US regionsOperates as a liaison to identify new business in existing health plan/payer and potential new markets in coordination with Account Management teamsAnswers client questions and addresses concerns; maintains an awareness and perspective regarding the level of success in meeting performance goals and exceeding client expectationsUtilizes sales CRM Tool to document and report opportunities and activities; ensures all contacts are updated and current as related to actively pursued accounts

Engages in Consultative Selling Approach:Comprehensive understanding of the features and benefits for all health plan/payer solutions, products, and services related to area of focusHealth plan, quality programs, care management, and risk adjustmentCollaborates with SVP of Sales to develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan and strategy consistent with Centauri’s overall strategic revenue goals and to ensure appropriate focus and attention to those objectives and initiatives from a new business development perspectiveMonitors client contracts with the objective to renew and/or increase business through the expansion of current services or the introduction of new services for private and public health plansUnderstands market dynamics (legislative changes, technology developments, competition) and their impact on clientsOversees the development and presentation of new business proposals and RFP responsesAssists members of Centauri operations and client relations teams to ensure the timely implementation of new services for new and existing clientsWorks with business & product development and service line leadership in developing sales approaches and pricing strategies for new and existing services & solutions

Required Knowledge:Advanced level of interpersonal skills (reading, writing, verbal communications)Ability to work and operate under pressure & deadlinesAdvanced reasoning and problem-solving skillsHigh degree of service line(s) and industry knowledgeAdvanced skill in Windows Business Applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT)Advanced skill in sales management applications (e.g., Salesforce)Knowledge and use of technology and communication toolsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent attention to detailExcellent project management skillsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent client management and relationship development skills

Required Education:Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university with appropriate course work; Master’s degree with appropriate course work preferred

Experience Required:Substantial new business (8-12 years); health plan sales; prior account or territory development experience (4-6 years)Central and Western US client focus experience
