Overview

We are seeking a full-time

Senior Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designer

in our Olathe, KS or Salem, OR location. In this role, you will be responsible for creating loosely defined complex Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from schematics and inputting from Design Engineering and is a departmental expert in one or more areas of technology.

Essential FunctionsPartners with Product Design Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to produce loosely defined complex PCB Designs that are timely, robust, and economicalKey technical contributor and ECAD/MCAD interface expert in the design of new or challenging PCB designs or projects bearing directly on organizational objectivesLeverages thorough knowledge of Garmin processes and procedures through leadership of major research or product development projects consisting of multiple modules or sub-projects that align the team with Garmin and departmental mission and visionServes as an expert in data setup for all types of PCB design technology used at GarminRecognizes design technology changes and finds ways that our current tools can allow Garmin to implement those designsLeads the advancement of team capabilities through identification and testing of new PCB design technologies for ECAD softwareDevelops reliable solutions to exceedingly complex problems which require the regular use of individual thought and creativityConnects engineering teams, communicating effectively with all project stakeholders (ex. Electrical, Process and Mechanical Engineering)Serves as an expert in PCB Design and Engineering processes including mentoring one or more PCB DesignersOffers suggestions for PCB Design process improvements and authors most new proceduresDemonstrates a working knowledge of Garmin's ECAD LibraryBasic QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Electronics Technology or related field

AND

a minimum of 10 years relevant experience performing similar consumer electronics industry duties

OR

an equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrates proficient use and advanced knowledge of PCB design best practices and design standards for all PCB technologies used in current Garmin designs as well as the ability to bring new technologies into GarminDemonstrates expert proficiency using Garmin's ECAD toolsDemonstrates an ability to interpret design intent from schematics and have a working knowledge of electronic circuits theory and operationDemonstrates a thorough knowledge of PCB manufacturing processesDemonstrates proficiency using personal computers and Microsoft Office applicationsDesired QualificationsDemonstrates expert proficiency using Cadence Allegro 17.4 or newerGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
