Senior-Staff

Piping Designer

to help us achieve our company mission. The Plant Design team is responsible for preparing studies, sketches, drawings, and models of equipment arrangements and piping layouts as well as performing a variety of computer-based modeling, design, and planning tasks on projects.Responsibilities include:Developing equipment arrangements utilizing vendor data and design criteria.Preparing complete design packages, including construction scope of work, for complex projects that meet design intents and customer expectations.Using vendor documents, coordination prints, surveys, and models to check dimensions, determine interface points, determine physical space requirements, and provide information to other departments.Creating lists of deliverables and tasks, and estimating effort hours for same, based on limited scopes of work for complex projects. Identifying staffing and skill levels required.Gathering field information and developing field sketches.Developing piping/mechanical design scopes, effort hour estimates, resources loaded schedules, and vendor print reviews.Ensuring designs are constructible.Preparing models, drawings, and design sketches using related documents.Minimum requirements:One of the following combinations of education and experience:Two-year technical degree with specialized training in computer-aided mechanical or architectural drafting and design; AND 20 years of related work experienceOR, Graduation with a Bachelor's degree or higher from a four-year non-ABET accredited engineering program; AND 18 years of related work experienceAbility to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites.
