DEFINITION:

Will work in collaboration with the Executive Director for the overall development, marketing, and communication of AARS as established by the Board of Directors including, but not limited to:

Develop and implement cost-effective fund development program involving individuals, businesses, and private foundations.

Identify, cultivate, recruit, and organize fund development leaders and volunteers.

Write grant proposals.

Manage grants.

Increase AARS revenues from both public and private sources.

Develop additional agency revenue streams.

Oversee AARS media.

Develop outreach and public relations.

Oversee the creation and development of an online community.

Will be responsible to the Executive Director and serves under the general direction of the Executive Director. Will be responsible for successfully completing other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Responsible for reporting to and taking direction from the Executive Director.

Responsible for an annual written development marketing plan, working in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Responsible for submitting a fortnightly activity to the Executive Director, who will provide it to the Board of Directors.

Responsible to submit an activity report to the Executive Director who will deliver it to the Board of Directors at their quarterly meetings.

Responsible for, working in collaboration with the Executive Director, to prepare requests for public and private funding, grant proposals and fund-raising efforts.

Responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with strategic partnerships for programs and funding including, but limited to the following stakeholders: community, state and federal agencies, donors, and other treatment programs and referral agencies.

Responsible for directing the production of fundraising events and developing calendars, plans, and marketing material for fundraising events.

Responsible for, working in collaboration with the Executive Director to direct the AARS media (including, but not limited to) web site, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Zoom.

Responsible for creating an online community for AARS former clients, stakeholders, and other community members.

Responsible for overseeing in-person and online marketing of merchandise and agriculture products for the agency.

Responsible for increasing revenue streams to include but not limited to online donations, payroll deductions, ranch sales, merchandising.

Responsible for, working in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, to create, write, edit, and produce press releases, publications, videos, exhibits, and printed materials, including annual reports.

Responsible for outreach and communication including, but not limited to the oversight of digital and social media outreach.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have alignment with the mission, vision, and values of AARS.

Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate field.

May have previous nonprofit management experience, which is preferred, specifically with organizations who receive funding from federal, state, and local governmental bodies.

Must be able to write grant proposals.

Must be able to manage grants.

Must have a professional demeanor, able to meet and communicate with political and business leaders.

Must be familiar with Twelve Step recovery principles.

May have personal experience with recovery from an addiction preferred, but not required.

Must have: a. Current TB test (obtainable within the first 30 days of employment); b. Current First Aid/CPR Cards (obtainable within the first 90 days of employment); c. Must be able to pass mandated criminal background check with an allowance for a variance.

Preferred:

Familiar with Alaska Native culture; resident of Mat-Su Valley; experience working with handicapped; some experience with social service agencies; good team worker who can relate well with fellow workers; able to relate to alcoholics, drug abusers, and public inebriates, and familiar with AA/NA treatment philosophies.

Has maintained sobriety for at least one (1) year if a recovered alcoholic/drug-abuser.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Knowledge and experience in fundraising for charitable causes to increase revenue from both public and private sources for the organization.

Ability to write and acquire grants.

Ability to manage grants.

Ability to manage timelines and project budgets effectively.

Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Demonstrated ability to lead staff and assist the board while fostering teamwork among all groups of people connected with the agency.

Proven track record of excellent and effective oral and written communications skills.

Experience with website and newsletter production and message development.

Proven track record of experience successfully supervising and implementing activities appropriate to the advancement of organizational goals.

Job Type:

Full-time

Pay:

$48.96 - $56.10 per hour

Expected hours:

40 per week
