The Financial Analyst - Marketing Controllership is a key member of the Controllership and Operations (CAO) team supporting Marketing and the Customer Office. This role is responsible for supporting the month-end close process through gathering information from business partners, preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, and performing account reconciliations. This role will also be responsible for certain projects (marketing optimization, accounting system integration) and will be required to support financial and accounting process improvement and efficiencies. The Accounting Analyst will work together with others on the Marketing Controllership team and partner with the business and FP&A.

This role is hybrid, which means you must be located within a drivable distance to our Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, MN. You might be asked to come into the office up to 3 days per week.

What You’ll Do

Coordinate and support month-end close process including preparing and recording journal entries.Analyze monthly financial results and prepare meaningful variance commentary.Lead monthly “alignment” meetings with the marketing business teams to ensure expense is recognized accurately and timely.Provide input into budgeting/forecasting and assist in identifying business risks and opportunities and participate in understanding drivers of financial trends.Prepare monthly account reconciliations and research any variances if applicable.Partner with multiple teams across Best Buy.Drive process improvements and provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed.Prepare SOX testing for key controls.Basic Qualifications

2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field either via academics/degree program and/or professional work experience.Basic proficiency using Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel).Preferred Qualifications

Experience in applying GAAP to large company situations.GAAP accounting knowledge and an ability to research questions as they arise.Experience in identifying process improvements and/or automation to streamline processes for efficiency.CPA.What’s in it for you
