With a remarkable portfolio of over 55 solar projects totaling 4.5GW, ranging from 1kW to 600MW, this company stands at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution.

We are seeking an experienced Substation Design Manager to join our client’s expanding team. This role is pivotal in overseeing and optimizing the interconnection processes for large-scale solar projects. Key Responsibilities:Design Coordination:

Review and refine substation concept designs, collaborating with substation and PV engineers to streamline information flow and enhance design details.Feasibility & Execution:

Assist in the development of concept designs for feasibility studies and tenders, and provide detailed design support during the execution phase.Site & Technical Support:

Attend site walks, commissioning kickoff meetings, and training sessions. Provide technical assistance during project execution and troubleshoot issues related to PV and HV testing.Documentation & Compliance:

Work with local utilities and grid operators to develop energization documentation and contribute to the creation of manuals and commissioning plans.Continuous Improvement:

Identify success stories and lessons learned, sharing insights with estimating and project teams to foster ongoing project lifecycle improvement.Client Engagement:

Understand and manage client project-specific success criteria, develop strong relationships with stakeholders, and deliver tailored solutions.Leadership:

Supervise, coach, and mentor team members, and contribute to the development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan (PEP).

Qualifications:Education:

Engineering degree or diploma; P.E PreferredSubstation Design:

Expertise in substation design, Protection & Control, and SCADA systems.Commissioning:

Experience in substation testing, grid synchronization, and commissioning.Project Management:

Skilled in scheduling, managing start-ups, and understanding contracts.Safety:

Proven track record in maintaining safety and environmental standards.Communication:

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.Adaptability:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and travel as needed.
