Job Description - Senior Analyst, Design and Commercial (11007512D20240611)Senior Analyst, Design and CommercialExton, PA I New York, NY I USAThis role will involve working with underwriters, risk managers, information technology development teams, and senior actuarial team members. The main areas of involvement will be in pricing and analytics for the North America Design Professional and Commercial E&O underwriting teams.What will your essential responsibilities include?Assist Actuarial leads with micro-portfolio management activities including selection of base loss ratio for model calibration, profitability studies & segmentation, dashboard maintenance, and loss trend selectionsSupport the regular monitoring of rate change and profitability metrics – including initiatives to query outliers, and improve on data quality and coverage – as well as performing audits on metrics to ensure compliance with Pricing Model StandardsEnhance the MI reporting capabilities of the Design Professional and Commercial E&O pricing teamSupport development, testing and calibration of Pricing tools, alongside Models teamConduct deal-specific pricing for large accountsAd hoc analysis work to guide underwriting, risk, and actuarial decision-making.You will report to Actuary – Design Professional & Commercial E&O.We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:Recommended - some experience of non-life insurance pricingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to concisely explain complex topics to different audiences.An innovative thinker who can provide solutions from both an actuarial and business perspective with:A focus on quality and integrityProven actuarial experience, preferably in commercial linesCoding skills in R, VBA, and/or SQLAbility to collaborate across teamsEnthusiastic individual who is keen to learn and develop, making good progress through early stages of actuarial exams with intention to qualify in the Casualty Actuarial SocietyThe U.S. pay range for this position is USD 55,000 – 97,000.
