Role DescriptionWe are seeking a CAD Technician with experience in control panel and systems design to join our control and automation consulting firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and other technical drawings for various industries, including oil and gas, water and wastewater, manufacturing, chemical, and mining.
Key Responsibilities:Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, loop drawings, and other technical drawings for control and automation projects.Develop and improve existing CAD processes within the organizationCoordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure technical drawings are integrated seamlesslyPerform site visits and surveys to gather information for control panel and systems design projectsStay current with industry standards and regulations related to control panel and systems designProvide input for project schedules and budgetsCollaborate with other CAD technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate and complete documentation
Qualifications:Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology or related field3+ years of experience in CAD drafting and design with preference for experience with control panels, MCCs, VFDs, loop drawings, and other electrical control systems.Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and standardsProficiency in AutoCAD and/or other design softwareStrong attention to detail and ability to work independentlyStrong communication and teamwork skills
