What would you do?
We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer with a strong background in IT infrastructure and a solid understanding of UML (Unified Modeling Language) to join our team for a short-term engagement of 2-3 months. This is a hybrid role requiring an on-site presence in either Plano, TX or McLean, VA, for three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
Responsibilities:
Develop clear and concise technical documentation, including user manuals, procedure guides, and online help systems.Create and maintain UML diagrams to visually represent system architecture, workflows, and processes.Collaborate with technical teams to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy.Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity and consistency.Adhere to established documentation standards and style guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in technical writing, computer science, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on IT infrastructure documentation.Strong understanding of UML and ability to create accurate and informative diagrams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Experience with documentation tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ITIL frameworks.Knowledge of cloud computing technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
