Purpose:The Draftsperson works closely with drafting supervisor and designers to create base-maps and the traffic designs using specific requirements from the jurisdictions, field notes and clients.

Responsibilities:Creates base-maps for proposed traffic designs using all available information. (Client S.O.W., Google Maps and Jurisdictional information / requirements)Drafts all field engineering notes to base-map or survey map that are pertinent to design.Drafts current field conditions. (Stripping. Driveways, medians, etc...)Draft red-line comments from jurisdictional review.Creates traffic design from completed substructure design.Creates typical TCP's using MUTCD & WATCH Manuel whenever applicable.Follows multiple design and format standards as needed per client and/or jurisdictional requirementsAll other duties as required.

Skills:Work as a team player in a fast-paced environment with all team members to complete assigned tasks

Education and Training:Degree in Drafting combined with 1-2 Years of experience in traffic control drafting / design is preferred.Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles as it pertains to temporary traffic control.Must have knowledge of the latest editions of both the California Manual on uniform traffic control devices and the Work Area Traffic Control Handbook / Cal-Trans Standard.Must be familiar with AutoCAD, 2005-2019 and Photoshop.Map reading skill (utility, topographic, street improvements, etc.), preferred.Must be familiar with Google Earth2-3 Years of experience.

Compensation: $24-27/hr
