We seek a Senior Engineering (ML) Manager to focus on solving unique and complex technical problems facing our internal and external customers. As a Senior Engineering Manager on our team, you'll lead a team responsible for prototyping new ideas, building innovative experiences at scale, and enhancing existing products. You'd play a key role in leading, developing and implementing innovative AI solutions that will revolutionize our customer experience. You'll collaborate with a brilliant team of researchers, designers, and engineers to tackle exciting challenges across various domains.

The Incorrect Candidate Will Have:

A preference for remote work, as this a hybrid role that's located in the The Greater Seattle Area.

A background solely in large enterprise companies with a reluctance to embrace frequent risks and innovation.

A lack of excitement for GenAI and ML technologies.

A comfort zone that limits their willingness to explore new domains and solutions.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of ~10 Engineers, Researchers, Scientists, etc.

Design and develop robust AI architectures, frameworks, and algorithms that can support large-scale and complex AI solutions in alignment with business objectives.

Evaluate and select appropriate AI technologies, tools, and frameworks to achieve desired performance, accuracy, and scalability.

Collaborate across the company to guide the direction of machine learning at Lowe's, spanning teams from research to production.

Communicate with a team of research scientists, product managers, and engineers and lead and document AI architectures, design decisions, and technical specifications for reference and knowledge sharing.

Work closely with research scientists and model engineering teams on developing, and deploying, ML systems in production. Develop a strategy for optimizing models and systems for performance, scalability, efficiency, and cost.

Offer technical supervision and direction to the ML platform teams and lead the creation of future ML platform for deploying and monitoring AI models in production settings while maintaining compliance with the best practices in machine learning and deep learning.

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI technologies, frameworks, and algorithms, and identify opportunities for their application in the organization.

Possess a strong background in data acquisition, handling, and processing.

Conceive, design, and implement groundbreaking solutions, even in resource-constrained environments, through creative problem-solving.

Develop AI models that can visually identify products, understand customer needs, and recommend the perfect tools and materials for their projects.

Utilize computer vision and spatial computing to create seamless in-store experiences, helping customers locate products and navigate the aisles effortlessly.

Design AI-powered tools that allow customers to visualize their dream projects and find inspiration for their home improvement journeys.

Build intelligent systems that optimize inventory levels, streamline stock management, and ensure we have the right products available at the right time.

Additional Experience:

Proficient in basic Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) skills.

Extensive experience in writing complex microservices within a cloud environment.

Deep understanding around technologies such as LLM (Large Language Models), GenAI, ML (Machine Learning), or Computer Vision.

Demonstrated passion for exploring the unknown and taking on new challenges with enthusiasm.
