Audio Visual Installation Technician (DOD with TS Clearance) - Colorado Springs, USA

Overview:We are actively seeking an experienced AV Installation Technician to join our client’s team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI. The ideal candidate will be part of a team supporting a USSC NIWC contract, performing various installation tasks for audio-visual projects. This role involves significant technical expertise and the ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and ensure customer satisfaction through thorough testing and documentation.

Job Summary:The AV Installation Technician will perform various installation tasks for audio-visual projects, including pulling cables, installing connectors, and mounting projectors, displays, and video walls. The Technician will also install AV equipment in racks, assist with basic mechanical fabrication and rack wiring, and conduct testing to ensure system functionality.

Key Responsibilities:Perform installation tasks for AV projects, including pulling cable, installing connectors, and mounting projectors, displays, and video walls.Install AV equipment in racks and assist with basic mechanical fabrication and rack wiring.Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors.Test point-to-point functionality of systems and perform field installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron/Extron).Mentor Junior Technicians and provide site supervisor direction from the Project Manager.Conduct client training as needed and act as a customer liaison in the absence of the Project Manager.Document job progress and demonstrate leadership at job sites.Travel to various job sites around the Colorado Springs area.

Requirements:Effective communication skills with employees, customers, and colleagues.Proficient use of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.Basic computer skills, including Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video, and control equipment.Ability to manage small to medium projects.Minor programming capability (AMX/Crestron/Extron) for basic changes and troubleshooting.Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.Formal education in electronics or a related field is preferred.Minimum audio-visual installation experience is required.Avixa CTS and/or CTS-I certification preferred.BICSI certification preferred.Vendor certifications (Extron/AMX/Crestron/Biamp/Planar, etc.) preferred.Active Top Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain SCI Government Security Clearance.
