Key Responsibilities

Provides leadership and direction to ensure that overall marketing function is effectively meeting the organization’s strategic goals for more than one broad functional area

Directs the development of market requirements for specific products or product lines including product strategy definition, requirement analysis, technology product roadmaps and pricing

Directs and controls the activities of more than one broad functional area and leads effective marketing and cross-functional teams

Directs the development of business plans, assesses market penetration and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share

Recommends to GM how to most effectively deploy resources to achieve business goals for more than one broad functional area

Directs the competitive analysis of specific products or product lines

Establishes pricing strategies to build and protect a leadership position in market share while enhancing profit margins and developing marketing tools for successful product introductions

Drives effective interface with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products and enhance existing products as well as communicate critical market needs and time requirements

Functional Knowledge

Demonstrates a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a discipline. The role must keep abreast of new developments in order to help define the necessary changes to policy and practice

Business Expertise

Utilizes highly specialized skills to expand Applied’s technology footprint or customer base or to increase operational efficiencies in support of Applied’s business objectives

Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. This includes enabling the business unit to differentiate itself from the competition

Leads key cross-functional project teams or initiatives. Acts as a mentor and role model to others within the organization

Exercises a high degree of autonomy when making decisions that impact the business unit or function deliverables

Decisions impact annual goal attainment and contribute to achievement of important objectives of the business unit and may impact other external functions or groups

U.S. Salary Range:

$196,000.00 - $269,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
