Junior Media Designer

A client of TEKsystems is hiring for a remote, junior level media designer. This person will be working on product design reviews, quality assurance, and tweaking of art assets and have experience working in creative roles.

This person will work closely with an expert-level media designer produce the processes and guidelines, and then an outside vendor creates the content or asset (in this case, a video, but it could be any type of asset). When they receive the asset back, the media designer uses a template or guideline to do side-by-side comparisons to iterate on the asset. The designers typically do 2-3 rounds of iterations. They utilize Asana to collaborate and communicate with their vendors. Media designers and product designers (also known as graphic designers) work very closely.

The difference between the two is this: the product designer works on the general layout of the designs, while the media designer focuses on the art assets within the layout.

Tools they will work with: Asana, Adobe, Canva

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and subject matter experts, to ensure alignment with educational goals and market needs.

· Contribute to defining product vision and strategy, ensuring media products are innovative, engaging, and effective for learning.

· Ensure the accessibility and inclusivity of media products, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

· Participate in the project lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.

· Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized tasks or content.

· Develop multimedia content such as videos, animations, and interactive simulations that enhance the learning experience.

· Curate and integrate third-party content to complement and enrich our media offerings.

· Provide creative direction, research, and review assets for contextual accuracy, functionality (digital), brand consistency, diversity, and accessibility standards.

· Work with instructional designers and content specialists to develop multimedia assets for students.

· Conduct user research with teachers and students to inform content development.

· Collaborate on media content strategy, scheduling, and budgeting.

· Establish style guides, workflows, and launch documentation to set projects up for success.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Strong ability to prioritize workload and adhere to design standards.

· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other design tools.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in educational programs.

· Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana.
