Statement of the Job : The purpose of this position is to advance and coordinate communication and marketing activities and initiatives in support of research and scholarship, the Graduate School, research centers, outreach programs and initiatives. This position will provide consistency by identifying concerns and expectations of users while recognizing outreach opportunities and growth potential. This position will work closely with Senior Leadership in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School, the Graduate School, and research centers to plan, direct, and manage key areas of communication and collaboration related to faculty and student research and graduate studies at the University of Maine.

Required:Typically has the education and background associated with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.3-5 years of work-related experience.Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to produce dynamic online content.Demonstrated skills needed to produce correspondence and communications, with preferred proficiency in MS Office.Desktop publishing experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro.Preferred:Videography experience.Graphics design experience.Demonstrated social media experience including assessment of campaign performance using analytics.Experience with WordPress and Gutenberg.Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision in a collaborative environment and provide leadership conducive to consensus building and teamwork.Proven skills necessary to work under pressure to meet both internal and external deadlines and respond in a timely manner to requests from university officials and external agencies.Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.Ability to travel in state, regionally, and nationally for job-related purposes.Other Information : 1.) a cover letter which describes your experience, interests, and suitability for the position 2.) a resume/curriculum vitae 3.) contact information for three professional referencesYou will also need to submit the affirmative action survey, the self-identification of disability form, and the self-identification of veteran status forms.
